BHCC Meeting 3/5/2021

Members Present for Meeting: Mark, Peyton, Bennett, Mary, Brandon, John.

Previous meeting points:

We are trying to come up with good fundraising ideas. Send any new The new Sylvan Rocks owner

willing to do some partnerships to help with fundraising.

Bolting committee meeting last month talking about using alternative bolt known as the “titan bolt”.

No updates on the “pints for poop” wag bag project.

Be thinking of new potential officers for the upcoming year due to losing our current 4 officers.

Upcoming Events:

Pump fest is a two-day fundraiser that we set up in Custer State Park where people have opportunities

to climb, listen to bands, learn new skills, and play games. We are thinking of several different

clinics/activities including bouldering, slacklining, anchor building, basic climbing skills, etc. Pumpfest still

needs a set date. Be thinking of what weekend this could be convenient. Keep in mind that we don’t

want to schedule on the same weekends as other neighboring events. Ten Sleep Climbing festival

happens normally over July 4 th . International Climbing festival this year is happening over July 15-18 th .

Beans and beaners is an event where local/community members come together to climb over Labor Day

weekend and have a potluck. This will likely be separate from Pumpfest this year.

Access fund sent an upcoming zoom meeting on March 30 th at 5:00pm to join if we are interested in

learning how to seek and get grands for stewardship projects, and general costs.

Fundraising Ideas:

Working on getting more merchandise ready for fundraising.

Recent film festival was not very successful, but potentially going to do another Women’s film festival

since we aren’t losing any money from participating.

Trying to brainstorm ideas for collaborating/using the Sturgis Bike Rally to our advantage. Thinking

maybe a bike wash??
