TRAIL DAY 2020
2020 really threw all of us for a loop. We respected social distancing guidelines at the beginning of the pandemic and were finally able to come together later in the year and bust out one day of work in the Outer Outlets and Middle Earth. We redirected some runoff and covered social trails to keep travelers on the designated paths. We also helped the Custer State Park Crew fix some areas on the Sunday Gulch Trail that was heavily trafficked this year due to the increase in tourism caused by the pandemic. Pumpfest 2019
Pumpfest has been put on for many years, but 2019 was the first year the BHCC decided to expand the event into a multi-day climbing festival with music, climbing, raffles, and games! This year we set up over 25 top ropes in the Inner Outlet areas, had more than 30 prizes to give away, and danced all night to some great live music at the Custer Beacon. All ages participated, take a look at our gallery for the fun times at Pumpfest 2019!
Trail Day 2019
Huge thanks to the Access Fund Conservation Team and all of our volunteers for helping out with this year’s trail day! This year we finished our multi year project of the Spire 1,2, and 3 approach trail in the Cathedral Spires. We redirected the runoff and covered the exposed tree roots with some large steps and soil to give them some protection and reabsorption. Check out the process here!
